BB Tourneys Update

4th Grade Basketball Tourney Teams

In an attempt to free up a weekend for families and to lessen the time the girls have to sit on the bench, we are splitting up the four remaining tournaments. Each girl will go to 3 out of 4 remaining tourneys and will still end up playing the same but with one less weekend commitment. See below for schedule...

After Tourney Fun
Is anyone interested in taking the girls out to eat after their tourney? We thought it might be fun to get them all together one more time during BB. We could reserve a section of the Mainline (in Downer)...it has a pretty good variety of food and drinks. Just let me know...I thought the girls could all sit together, a section for the parents, and a section for the siblings :-) So I may need to get confirmed numbers at some point...

Pacesetter
Also, I'm attaching the Pacesetter sign-up sheet. This is the form quite a few coaches started modeling last year and so we figured we may as follow suit. Coach Lofgren is 99.9% sure he can coach that day (Sunday, April 2). So the money we saved from Ryan and Mindy coaching, we can use to pay Ben for coaching at Pacesetter. Details about the tourney are on the form.

7th Grade BB Schedule Change

In case you haven't heard it from your girls, because of the weather cancellation on Friday, the remaining six games will be adjusted. So now AB will play on Tuesday and the rest of the schedule will be pushed down. Coaches will have a revised schedule on Monday.

Just a few reminders for the 3rd Grade BB Girls...

• No practice Monday, October 31st - Happy Halloween!
• Monday, November 7 - practice in the HS Gym (enter from West side)
• Scrimmage in Breckenridge, Monday, November 14th; there is no transportation so take advantage of carpooling if you need help getting your girls there (more details as we get closer to the date)
• What to bring to practices: filled water bottle
• What to wear to practices: shorts/sweatpants, tee, clean/dry shoes (non-street shoes), hair tied back out of their face

Scrimmage tonight in the HS Gym 6-7:30pm. Wear black or maroon shorts. We have gold shirts the girls can borrow. Please return them before you leave tonight. Arrive 15 minutes early and enter through the west doors. Thank you.

The whole tourney starts at 10am (see linked schedule). I'll hand them out today. We will have just 2 teams. I'm in a wedding Saturday so the other 2 coaches will be taking the 2 teams. I'll let them know tomorrow if they are Hawley 1 or Hawley 2. I'm just going to split up team C and make 2 teams. Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend the VB Meeting last night. Some nuggets from last night:

• Practice begins August 29th at 3:30pm in the Elementary
• You must register online and receive your sports physical before you can participate
• Sometimes practice will be in the Fieldhouse, sometimes in the Elementary Gym
• There will be a Remind App to sign up for once the 7th Grade coach is confirmed (nothing to sign up for yet)
• You can choose to borrow the team shirt each and return it each season or purchase/own it (your call); no need to confirm until they receive their shirts
• 7th graders are required to bring 1 case of Dasani Water for the program (I believe it is for the Sept. 10th Tourney in Hawley)
• There was not an attendance sheet to sign, it was really just to confirm enrollment for the team (and we had almost everyone down...so we are good!)
• Coach (technically still unofficial) will be Katelyn Zacher and her contact info is kzacher@Hawley.kl2.mn.us or at school 483.3316
