Should we have practice on the 16th?
With Christmas Programs and dance recitals this Sunday, we wanted to check to see if people were still interested in basketball practice on Sunday the 16th. Is there interest? If so, would any parents mind helping out? Even if they just practice shooting, it's good to get the repetition, but we also know how busy this time of year can be and are fine cancelling as well. Just let us know so we can find out if we should unlock the gym.
Also, we welcome any and all parents who want to help during practice. As they are learning fundamentals, we can always use more eyes to help with one-on-one attention to correct their form before it becomes a habit. :-)

Great 1st Practice
Thanks for working hard at practice today...the girls did great! We worked on ball handling, shooting form, lay-ups and ended with a few games of lightning. Ask your girls what BEEF stands for...B=balance, E=elbow, E=eye contact, F=follow through (this is the acronym for good shooting form).
Next week we probably won't be blessed with such nice, dry weather so please wear boots or other shoes to pracing and carryin in your tennis shoes with you. Changing into clean, dry shoes right before practice helps keep the gym floor clean and avoids all the squeaky shoes! Practice will be at the same time, same place next Sunday. Stay tuned to the blog for any updates and you can also find our calendar there as well.

1st Practice on Sunday
Reminder: our first practice is Sunday, December 2nd, at 2pm in the Elementary School Gym. Please come prepared wearing sweat pants/shorts and tennis shoes. Water bottles will be handier than waiting for the drinking fountain.Practice will last an hour and a half...parents do not need to stay during practice but are welcome to if you want to. We will be covering much of fundamentals in the first few practices, but will keep you posted when the girls will be scrimmaging as they will be more entertaining to watch and you may have some photo opportunities as well.
